JAM LOCATIONS -- How to Get There

The directions below will help you find us some Tuesday night. Come on out and bring your instruments! Bring your friends! Bring your family! You don't even have to play to enjoy a night of music. Best of all, it's FREE!

CARNEY'S RESTAURANT (always in September & February)
17 Main St (Rte 146A), Ballston Lake, NY (Rest. phone: 399-9926)
From East and South (Troy/Albany): Take I-87(Northway) Exit 9 (Clifton Park). Left, onto 146 West and through Clifton Park. Right onto Rte 146A (Ballston Lake Rd) -- 4-5miles to Ballston Lake (through light at Ashdown Rd). You'll go down a hill, coming into town. Stewart's Shop is on the left, Carney's is on the right, across from Stewart's and JUST before the RR tracks. Big white house, long, decorated front porch. Sign hanging from upper floor is hard to read. If you go over the RR tracks, you have gone too far.
From West (Schenectady) -- Rte 50 north to Burnt Hills. Right onto Lakehill Rd (at light by Burnt Hills Plaza). Lakehill to end (down steep hill). Turn right at flashing caution light, onto Main St. Cross over RR tracks, turn immediately left into driveway for Carney's, or enter on Westside Drive.
From North -- South on Rte 50, to Lakehill Rd. Left onto Lakehill. Lakehill to end. Right at flashing light. Cross tracks, left into Carney's.

KATIE O'BYRNE'S PUB
121 Wall Steet, Schenectady, NY
Located near AMTRAK Station, off  Erie Blvd (turn into AMTRAK parking lot, Pub is in building on the right).
From 890: Take 890 west to Erie Blvd exit (4B -- this takes you down and under 890). Go straight onto Erie Blvd, Cross Rte 5 (State St), and turn RIGHT, before the next light, into the AMTRAK Rail Station Parking lot. Katie's is on the right. Parking is free after 5pm. 
From points North: Take Rte 50 south to Freeman's Bridge Rd.(ar Schen. Airport). Take Freeman's Bridge over river -- now becomes Erie Blvd.  Go one block past Union ST -- and through light for Liberty St. IMMEDIATELY  TURN LEFT into AMTRAK Parking lot.

KIELTY'S EMERALD ISLE
41 Broad St (Rtes 32 & 4), Waterford, NY
From the North, South, West: Take I-87 (Northway) to Exit 8A, turn east onto Grooms Rd. Go out to Rte 9 light and go straight across intersection onto Plank Rd. Take Plank Rd to the end. Turn left onto Broad St. Go two blocks. Kielty's is on left (green sign). Town parking lot is on side street, across from Pub.
East: Take 787 north to end. Turn right onto Rte 32. Follow 32 into Waterford, bear right after canal. Road becomes Broad St. Go two blocks, Pub is on left. Town parking lot is off side street at right.

McINTYRE'S PUB (Website/Map)
795 Third Ave, Watervliet, NY
From points North via I-787: Take Exit 8 (Watervliet) off I-787, turn right and go out to Rte 32. Turn left onto Rte 32, and follow 32 past the Watervliet Arsenal. Turn at the light at Third St (1st light after the Arsenal). Pub is on your left (A-Frame front -- Use lot in front, or VFW lot in back, or on-street parking).
From points South via I-787: Take Exit 7W onto Menands Rd, Immediately take next right to Broadway/Rte 32. Turn right onto Rte 32. Stay on 32 (becomes 3rd Ave). Watch for curve where 8th St meets 32. Pub is just after curve, on right.
Pub may also be reached via Rte 155 (east) -- turn right onto Rte 32 at the end of 155. Turn right at light for Third Ave (just past Arsenal). Pub on left.

MJ'S ON THE AVENUE ( Website )
499 Second Ave, Troy, NY
From 787 in Cohoes, take exit for Ontario Street / Rte 470 East, towards Troy. Continue straight over the bridge, and through several lights for approximately one mile. Ontario becomes 112th Street when you enter Troy. Turn left onto 2nd Ave at the intersection with CVS just after crossing into Troy. We are about 50-yards up on the left. Turn left onto 113th Street to access our parking lot.

MUDDY CUP CAFE @ PROCTOR'S ( Website/Directions/parking )
432 State St, Schenectady
From the NYS Thruway (Exit 25), South, East : Take I-890 west to "Exit 5 Broadway." Turn Right onto Broadway, stay straight through next light. ENTRANCE TO PARKING GARAGE is on the left across from Hamilton St.
From West: Follow Rte 5 through Scotia to Schenectady. Turn Right onto Broadway (just past underpass - get in right-turn lane). Go past Parking Garage on Broadays, to garage entrance road across from Hamilton St.(on right) From North: Rte 147 or 50 south to Rte 5, follow diretions from "West". Please note: You CANNOT take a left turn from Erie Blvd. onto State St (Rte 5) if you go down Freeman's Bridge Rd to State.
To find Muddy Cup from Parking Garage: When you exit the Parking garage ground floor doors, go across the street, and around the back of the buliding in front of you. You will see the Proctor's Marquee in lights, mid-way down the building. Enter Proctors and go halfway down hall to the Muddy Cup.

SOUTH END TAVERN
757 Burden Ave., Troy, NY
See directions to Eamonn's, above: Like going to Eamonn's but just keep going east on Rte. 378 (off of Rte. 9), and cross the Hudson over the Troy/Menands bridge (Exit 7E off 787). Keep in the left-hand lane and go through two lights (first light is the road to HVCC). The South End Tavern is on the left, *just* past the second light where the highway narrows to two lanes. Parking on street, or in parking lot at side of building. You can also take 787 (north or south) to the Troy exit (Exit 7E) Go over bridge, and follow above directions.

THE TAPROOM @ Brown's Brewing Co. (meeting upstairs)
River St., Troy, NY
From 787 (north or south) -- Take Troy/Bennington Exit (Rte 7). Cross the river and get into far RIGHT lane. Follow signs for "Troy Downtown" exit off the bridge, STAY TO THE RIGHT, and IMMEDIATELY take the "Hutton St" Exit. Go to the second light and take a LEFT onto River ST. Go about 1/2 block. The Troy Marina will be on your right. You can park on the street, alongside the building, or turn into the Marina parking lot, and drive alongside the building to the back parking lot. Stairs in back of building lead into the Taproom Pub, just off the deck. Street is One Way, so be sure to turn right when you leave the parking lot. Access back to 787 is at the next light. Right turn, go over the Green Island Bridge, and follow signs to 787.

We're always looking for new places to jam. We look for open-spaced, public places that will remain open until at least 10:30pm, and that don't charge for our using the space. More often than not, we end up in local pubs & taverns, but we also want familiy oriented locations.
